F5! F5! F5! (Bangs on Refresh Page keyboard key)

A 1-page website that is solely driven by images.  What this means that I can change the look of the entire website by merely making changes to the images on the website itself along with slight modifications to the CSS (Cascading Style Sheet).  It is a site that’s now in its “second generation” and it desperately needed to move into 2012.  It’s nothing technically impressive, but was designed to be rich in colour and imagery without looking like a fashion magazine page.  The use of the javascript library “lightbox” to display the sections on the website is still my favourite.  I can’t put up all the work I’ve put together in the arts section, especially not the websites, but none the less I present to you the finally complete F5 IT & Graphic Solutions website:

Back to the beginning

I’m back.  Of course you didn’t miss me.  Much has gone ‘down’ since my last post in November, but let me give it to you in one line – life happened.  Ahhh man has this is proving to be one hell of a difficult year!  On a happy note though – I find myself a whole year into this blogging business!  Technically it’s been 54 weeks since, but the next sip of this Creme Soda right here (points to 500ml bottle to my left) is in honour of this occasion.

I’ve been a busy man.  Well, firstly the Fancy Affairs website!  To my amazement that project is still running. My first post for a draft design was on 22 June 2011.  Now, one important lesson in running a business is that clients can be extremely indecisive.  Yes, you are the client.  You struggle to decide hey!  Mannnn!  Let’s call it’s current state “Phase One”:

I’ve not added a home page carousel with no fewer than 7 images.  It serves as a gallery of sorts.  The menu on the top right is new and allows easier navigation through the catalogue.  Fun and games this project!  Please pray that the client and I can agree soon?  Thanks!

One other I’ve managed to start and complete is Infinit Energy’s website.  Nice and quick, but quite a few additional pages are to come.

This next site is, to be honest, not my design.  It’s not my style of design and gives me vivid memories from days I used to use templates to create websites.  Don’t get me wrong – templates are excellent, but designers should really look to them as a source of inspiration.  Often I want to make too many changes to these sort of designs.  Tedious!  I am however working along side another chap, a graphic designer of sorts, and I had to work this into a proper website.  No idea how long to go, but I think it’s a solid project from his end none the less.

Another one of my new creations is for inHouse.  This client is very particular and was very instrumental in where what is, images and all.  The theme was red, white and various shades of grey – a combination that in my opinion never fails.  Client is happy and this should therefore be live pretty soon! 😀

And there is of course myyyy baby the F5 website – which deserves it’s very own post so I can give it the attention it deserves :’)
